National Highway Authority
The NHA is the custodian of a vast network of national highways, which consists of over 39,000 km of roads. This network includes 12 motorways, spanning over 1,675 km, which provide high-speed connectivity between major cities of Pakistan. The NHA also manages several strategic roads, including the Karakoram Highway, which is one of the highest paved roads in the world and connects Pakistan with China.
To finance its operations and development projects, the NHA generates revenue through toll collection on its motorways and other revenue-generating schemes. The agency also receives funds from the federal government and international donor agencies for various development projects.
